Boys Win at Lyman Classic

The SBA boys posted a 35-31 win over New Underwood at the Lyman Classic in Presho on Thursday, December 29. A late run in the fourth quarter helped pull out the victory in a game that included a 9 point first half for the Crusaders. Joel Pedersen had 10 points and 11 rebounds and Cole McClain led in scoring with 14. SBA is now 4-1 on the season while New Underwood drops to 2-2. SBA travels to Wessington Springs on Thursday, January 5 for their next contest.

SBA Boys Defeat Summit

The SBA boys defeated the Summit Eagles 52-43 at the NSU Classic at Wachs Arena in Aberdeen on Wednesday, December 28. Cole McClain and Joel Pedersen combined for 13-15 shooting from the field and scored 18 and 14 points respectively. Justin Rake led with 5 of the team's 15 assists on the day, and Pedersen and Titus Clark each pulled down 8 rebounds. The boys next play New Underwood at the Lyman Classic in Presho on Thursday, December 29. The SBA boys are now 3-1 while Summit falls to 1-6 for the year.

Girls Defeat Tiospaye Topa

The SBA girls improved to 4-1 on the season as they defeated Tiospaye Topa 70-18 on Tuesday December 27 at the Mobridge Rotary Classic. Kalli quicke led the team with 31 points and nine steals. Tricia Wilken added 15 points, and Bethany LaDue had 8 points and 11 rebounds. The Lady Crusaders had 15 assists as a team. The girls next play at Wessington Springs on Thursday, January 5.

SBA-James Valley Christian

The SBA girls ended a long drought against James Valley Christian on Friday, December 16 with a 45-39 victory over the Lady Vikings. Tricia Wilken led three players in double figure scoring with 13. Kalli Quicke had 10 points to go with 5 assists and Shanna Moreland led the team in rebounding with 9. Tara Nihart had 11 points for JVC and Sarah Wedel and Jaclyn Loban had 10 each. SBA is now 3-1 on the season and 2-1 in 281 Conference play. JVC is 2-2 and 2-1.

The SBA boys lost to JVC 59-46 Friday evening. Joel Pedersen led the Crusaders with 17 points and 14 rebounds while Cole McClain had 16 points and four assists. Adam Hofer led James Valley with 27 points and 5 assists. SBA is now 2-1 on the season and 1-1 in conference play while JVC is 2-0 and 1-0 in the 281. James Valley won both JV games.

The SBA boys defeated Faulkton 44-32 on Tuesday, December 13 at the SBA gym in a defensive struggle. The JV boys were also victorious by a 41-19 score.

Girls Game Summaries - December 14, 2011

The SBA girls are 2-1 on the season with victories over Iroquois and Faulkton and a loss to Woonsocket/Sanborn Central. They opened the season with a 44-26 win at Iroquois on Tuesday, December 6. On Saturday, December 10, the Lady Crusaders came up on the short end of a 44-39 score. In their most recent game, they defeated Faulkton 60-39 on Tuesday, December 13. The SBA boys defeated Woonsocket/Sanborn Central on Saturday, December 10 at the SBA gym. The Crusaders led at all quarter stops and had 18 assists on their way to a 65-37 win.
